40+ Free Cowl & Neck Warmer Patterns: {Knitting}

Lots of lovelies in this batch, some quick & easy to whip up, some thick ‘n chunky while others are more elegant or lacy. Slip ‘n Twist: Skill level marked as easy. Finished size measures approximately 32″ wide x 16″ long.

Lightweight & Delicate: Stretchy, cozy and generously sized. This is very versatile and can be worn a few different ways.

Seed Stitch: Made with circulars, is 10″ high by about 32″ around.

Cotton Seeds: Wonderfully versatile, it can be worn loose, wrapped around once, or twice – depending on your mood, or the weather.

Snow: Made on circulars. Worked until it’s 17″ or until desired length.

Fresco Basket Whip: This is done in the round. The combination of thin yarn and large needles make this lacy and toasty.

Botanical: This uses an airy double-eyelet design that gives it plenty of drape and visual depth.

Eve: Will be approximately 9″ x 28″. Uses just two balls of Classic Elite La Gran Mohair.

Climb & Swirl: One size, approx 13.5 inches tall, and 20 inches in circumference. Made with circulars. For this project, it’s better not to mark the beg of the round. Just repeat the stitch until you’re ready to bind off.

Scarflette: Made with a simple 8 stitch left cable. Also shows how to use a DPN as a cable needle.

Textured Path: This is a quick simple project.

Quickie: Can be worn as a scarf or a headband. The modified lace rib looks a little fancy but is easy and quick to make.

Stonehenge: Unisex. Measures 6″ tall by 20″ around.

Gap-Style: Made with four strands held together of any bulky weight yarn.

Men’s: Gorgeous design for men but suitable for anyone to wear it. Made with fingering weight yarn (doubled) on dpns or circulars.

Spin-a-round: Worked with so many stitches that it becomes a long scarf with no ends. The design is of Italian origin.

Pebble: Approx. 5.5″ by 33″ inches. There is no button hole; you can push the button through the fabric.

All The Way Around: Garter is easy, and you will finish this in a night. If you want to you can make it totally seamless by using provisional cast on and kitchener stitch for finishing.

Grey Owl: There are no buttonholes, but the five horn toggles make it possible to button it any way you want; up the front, round the side, or over the shoulder.

Simple & Easy: Made with DK weight wool and size 6 needles and made to overlap comfortably around your neck, button closure.

Swirl: This is done in a traditional Brioche stitch with decorative crochet button holes.

Big Herringbone: 14 inches wide and 58 inches around. To ensure that your first round isn’t too difficult, cast on fairly loosely.

Simple Seed Stitch: Simple design that’s suitable for both men and women. Uses worsted weight wool and size 10 (US) needles.

Ciara’s: Made with circulars or Magic Loop, this looks like it was crocheted but it’s knit. Gauge is 24 st x 28 rows over 10 cm (after blocking).

Eleanor: A funnel shape allows it to follow the contours of the body; the wider bottom allows it to spread out over the base of the neck.

Cabled: The braided sections are knit separately and then braided, the bottom slip stitch rib panel is seamed onto the lower edge of the braid.
