Make Decorative Envelopes & Liners: {Tutorials}

Here are over a dozen ideas for making your own envelopes or adding something a little extra special to them (with decorative paper, doilies, fabric, etc.). Great inspiration here for holiday cards, wedding invitations, special announcements, whatever you like. Nothing too complicated in this bunch and the expense is quite minimal, have fun!
Handmade Envelopes With Vintage Paper: An A4 envelope is used as a template and pretty scrapbook paper is glued to the inside.

Made From Heart-Shaped Paper: A heart shape is cut from decorative paper then cleverly folded into an envelope.
DIY Photo Liners: Learn how to make custom photo liners with cardstock, photos and double sided tape.

Collage Style: Made with brown kraft paper and decorated with bits of scraps such as old receipts, parking tickets, etc.
Pretty Doily How-To: Here’s how to fold a round paper doily into an envelope to hold an invitation, note or whatever you like.

Lace Paper Envelope: This one’s made with a 9″ square paper doily and lined with vellum.
Made With Fabric: Have something special you’d like to hand deliver or maybe hold important documents? Here’s a project using a couple pieces of fabric and medium-weight interfacing. Finished size measures 9.5″ x 6.25″.

Inter-Office Style: Another project made with fabric, this one closes with string wrapped around two buttons (at the flap).
ATC Template: Gift-card/credit card sized, print on cardstock or paper then cut, fold and glue as directed. You’ll find another freebie here.

DIY Templates: Here’s how to take any envelope you like, take it apart and make your own cardboard template.
Make Fabric Liners: Made with scraps of fabric, heat n’ bond adhesive paper and a glue stick.

Decorative Paper Liners: Can be made for any size envelope, shows you how to measure for a perfect fit.

Pretty Flower Pattern: Bright and cheery with a green background and floral print, folds into a square with space on the front to note details.
Letterfu: Letter-writing without envelopes, cutting or glue. Includes a variety of designs to print (Blank, Lilac, Valentine’s & Christmas) in both A4 & Letter sizes.

Teeny Patterned Template: Includes decals and labels on the sheet (via pdf download).
Scalloped: Features a scalloped black border, “From” label in the top left corner and “To” label in the bottom right.

Hello Design: Includes template and liners with colorful stripes and the word “Hello” (green, blue, orange and pink).
Fancy Flower: This one is suitable for mailing and has a fancy floral background in brown/beige tones.
